A huge thank you to the Smith Block Building (Jade Stacey) for sponsoring the venue for this special party. Constructed in 1905 for Roscoe W. Smith, one of Idaho’s earliest licensed pharmacists, the steel, brick, and stone structure replaced a series of much older wooden buildings built by his father, Dr. Ephraim Smith, Boise’s first mayor and Idaho’s first territorial treasurer. For more than a century, the building has anchored this historic block, originally housing ground-floor retail and upper-floor commercial space. In recent decades, however, the second floor sat vacant and closed to the public for nearly 60 years. Significantly, the part of the building that will be open for this event has not been accessible to the public in nearly six decades, making this a rare opportunity for Preservation Idaho members to step inside and see this historic space renewed. The venue space is currently available for lease.
