Preservation Idaho is excited to partner with the Sawtooth Lodge to present Back in the Saddle - A Special Tour of the Sawtooth Lodge.
Join Barbara Perry Bauer, historian and founding member of TAG Historical Research & Consulting, and special guests for this exclusive tour and lunch experience.

Celebrate Idaho’s history at the iconic Sawtooth Lodge, established in 1927, with an afternoon of storytelling, exploration, and connection. Enjoy a guided tour, hear untold stories of Emile Grandjean, Harriet "Babe" Hanson, and long-time owners Marie and Albert Lockett.

Step inside one of Idaho's most treasured historic properties for a memorable afternoon of history, hospitality, and behind-the-scenes access at the iconic Sawtooth Lodge.
Your experience begins at 1:00 p.m. with a delicious lunch and an engaging tour exploring the Lodge's rich history, the remarkable people who shaped its legacy, and the exciting vision for its future.
Following lunch, Barbara will lead an exclusive guided walking tour of the property, offering guests rare behind-the-scenes access to the historic Lodge and select cabins. Along the way, you'll hear fascinating stories spanning nearly a century of mountain hospitality, preservation, and adventure. From its origins as a beloved wilderness retreat to the ongoing efforts to preserve its legacy for future generations, this is a unique opportunity to experience the Sawtooth Lodge like never before.

$25 + tax – Children (ages 13 and under)

Ticket Availability: Space is limited, and advance ticket purchase is required.
Member Discount: Preservation Idaho members receive $5 off each ticket. To access member pricing, click "Login for Member Benefits" and sign in to your account before completing your purchase.
Transportation: Transportation to and from the Sawtooth Lodge is not provided.
Extend Your Stay: Guests are welcome to enhance their visit by booking overnight accommodations, horseback riding, or hot springs access. These optional experiences are available for an additional fee and should be reserved directly with the Lodge.

Getting There & Parking
Location: Sawtooth Lodge Forest Road 700 Lowman, ID 83637 MAP
Parking: Available in the main Lodge parking area. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow time for parking and check-in before the event begins.
For directions, use your preferred GPS or mapping app and search for Sawtooth Lodge, Lowman, Idaho.
Book Your Own Adventure (Additional Fees Apply)
Guests are invited to create their own Sawtooth adventure by participating in optional activities offered by the Lodge (additional fees apply and are paid directly to the Lodge):
Book a cabin or campsite for an overnight stay on Sunday night (please note: Saturday evening cabin reservations are not available)
Horseback riding through the surrounding mountains
Hiking nearby scenic trails
Soaking and relaxing in the hot springs pool
Taking in the views and historic atmosphere of the Lodge
Horseback Riding
Interested in a horseback ride? Trail rides are available for guests ages 6 and older.
To reserve a ride, visit swoidaho.com and select the Trail Rides page. Guests may choose to ride before (at 11 AM) or after the event (at 3:00 PM).
Hot Springs
Relax in the hot springs pool during your visit.
Hot springs admission can be purchased directly at the Lodge through their point-of-sale system.
