As this year comes to an end, we ask you to consider putting Preservation Idaho on your year-end donation list.
When you include Preservation Idaho in your year-end giving, you support communities all throughout Idaho. Our work serves to protect Idaho history and values by advocating for the maintenance and reuse of historic places to encourage affordable housing, green environmental practices, and sustainable living.
We have a number of educational programs that help us make a difference and this year we kicked off our year-end giving with a campaign to support our Idaho Time Machine and Idaho Architecture Project; these programs serve to educate Idahoans of all ages about the value of architectural history and the history of buildings and neighborhoods.
We are $4,147 away from our year-end fundraising goal to build these programs and you can help us meet it!
Please also consider membership
If you become a member now can attend our Member Appreciation Event at the start of 2020! As always, light food and drink will be provided. We will have an overview of 2019 and a look at 2020. Share the evening with like-minded preservationists and start receiving the benefits of membership.
The Idaho Time Machine
An activity-based curriculum for 4th-grade students to learn about the value and joy of history, economics, geography, and historic preservation in Idaho. With help from grants from the Laura Moore Cunningham and Whittenberger Foundations, we have been able to develop and reengineer this engaging program. Now we need your help to create Time Machine kits for every Idaho school district across the state! With your support, we can foster a love for history and preservation in our youth and ensure the ongoing protection of Idaho's historic preservation for future generations!
the idaho architecture project
The Idaho Architecture Project began in 2006 as a high school student project that then developed into an educational reference site as well as a state-wide, community-oriented website. The IAP is looking towards building a new website with an extended platform for increased user functionality. The new website will support student projects statewide and will allow anyone, anywhere in Idaho to tell the story of a building they love for all to see.
