North Junior High
PWA – 1936
Tourtellotte & Hummel / Wayland & Fennell

When constructed, this Art Deco school was the first designated junior high in Boise. Construction, under the management of J.O. Jordan and Son, cost almost $290,000 and used local Boise sandstone in combination with over a million bricks manufactured around the region. Built on a piece of land known as Lemp’s Triangle, the school has seen three additions including a sympathetically designed cafeteria in 1968 and a gymnasium expansion in 2009.
