ArchWalks
Sometimes it is difficult in today's fast paced world to take time to look at the buildings with which we interact every day. The ArchWalk program is designed to do just that. Learn more about the architecture, history and notoriety of downtown Boise buildings and neighborhoods on the last Thursday of each month during the summer.

Space is very limited, and registration is required.

12:00 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. season passes are SOLD OUT.

May 31 - Fort Boise and Veterans Hospital GroundsJoin Preservation Idaho Vice-President and the President of Planmakers, John Bertram, for an informative walk around Fort Boise. The Boise Veteran’s Administration Medical Center was awarded an Onion Award in 2011 for their poor management of this endangered site, one of the state’s oldest collections of buildings and the reason for Boise’s existence. June 28 - Eastman Street and Hyde ParkJon Swarthout, the Founder and Artisitc Director of the Treasure Valley Institute for Children’s Arts (TrICA) will lead a tour around the neighborhood that has its home for over 100 years. Explore Hyde Park, stroll down Eastman Street, and peek at the progress being made at TrICA’s home, the historic Immanuel Methodist Episcopal Church Building. July 26 - Randolph-Robertson NeighborhoodArchitectural historian Emily Perkins will lead a fascinating walk showcasing the Randolph-Robertson Neighborhood and its mid-century homes. Perched above Borah High School, this atomic age addition to Boise features Minimal Traditional cottages and long, low Ranch homes and is an important part of the growth of Idaho’s capitol city. September 27 - Old Idaho PenitentiaryTricia Canaday, State Architectural Historian at the Idaho State Historic Preservation Office, will lead this tour of the Old Idaho Penitentiary. Despite, or perhaps because of its troubled history, the buildings of this National Register-listed site have a unique and interesting architectural pedigree.
