Preservation Idaho's 32nd annual awards were given Saturday in Nampa.

The Orchids, for positive contributions to historic preservation, went to:

Distinguished Preservationist:

Ann Swanson, Boise, for 25 years of Idaho preservation work.

Friend of Preservation:

Patricia Eames, McCall, for her work to preserve historic McCall.

Annual 'Orchids and Onions' awards recognize efforts in downtown, at historic structure

NAMPA — Nampa won honors twice Saturday for its high priority to preserve historic buildings.

Partnering with the Nampa Historic Preservation Commission, Preservation Idaho and The Idaho Historic Preservation Council held the annual "Orchids and Onions" awards ceremony Saturday in Nampa's Masonic Event Center. 

Onion: Boise Independent School District

Awarded to the Boise Independent School District for the Demolition of South Junior High School

IDEQ Brownfield Response Program

Orchid: Cultural Heritage Preservation

Awarded to Aaron Scheff and the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality

Statewide

Post Falls History Walk

Orchid: Cultural Heritage Preservation

Awarded to Ms. Maddy Baker for her work in creating the Post Falls History Walk

Overland/Crescent Brewery

Orchid: Contribution to Historic Preservation

Nampa

Basin Butte Lookout Restoration
