Beardmore Block

Orchid: Excellence in Historic Preservation

Beardmore Block, Priest River

Awarded to Brian Runberg

For the restoration of the Beardmore Block in Priest River

This amazing building was constructed in 1922 for Charles Beardmore and served the Priest River community as a shopping destination and movie theater for several decades. As time progressed, the building became unused and threatened by neglect. In 2006, the building was purchased by the grandson of its builder, Brian Runberg, and has since been painstakingly restored. Dedication to historic preservation as well as his family’s legacy are among the reasons why Preservation Idaho is proud to honor Brian for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
