Modern Masters 2017: The Eames House
This year’s event topic is the Eames House, also known as Case Study House No. 8. Idaho Modern will be hosting Lucia Dewey Atwood, Director of the Eames Foundation and an Eames granddaughter. She will be speaking about her work with the Getty Center to conserve and preserve the house and landscape. The Eames Residence and Studio is a landmark of mid-20th century modern architecture located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. It was designed and constructed in 1949 by husband and wife Charles and Ray Eames to serve as their home and studio.
Tickets are required in advance and will be available at preservationidaho.org. Cost is $20 for members of Preservation Idaho or $25 for non-members (plus service fees).
A limited number of VIP tickets are available, providing an opportunity to dine with Lucia Dewey Atwood at Bittercreek/Red Feather Cellar after her presentation. Cost for the VIP event is $80 and includes admission to the presentation with a reception following where we will nosh on heavy appetizers and provide intimate conversation with Dewey Atwood and other mid-century enthusiasts.
